The Today Show this week did a feature, which more or less focused on the new stay-at-home dad trend of men being forced into the role because of factors like the bad economy. I am happy to see as many stories as this as possible, especially from the national media, because it is an important issue to address. The adjustment into an at-home role is not always an easy one if you chose it, what do you think it must be like to have your hands tied?
Although the piece isn’t thoroughly in-depth or creative – I am not a hater of the movie Mr. Mom, in fact I think it is kind of funny and some of it’s themes hold up rather well after a quarter of a century, but please don’t base a 2009 piece on a cliché term – it did offer some decent, ground-level advice to those who may be experiencing this. To an extent, every little bit helps, especially during tough times.
