An easy way to get involved with the kids’ activities, and to encourage them to do more as well, is to volunteer to lead them.
Just because you are a stay-at-home dad doesn’t mean you have hours of free time. But you do have a certain flexibility to help out with extracurricular activities that other parents don’t. Use that to your advantage to do more with the kids and help them learn and have fun at the same time.
Become a Cub Scout or Brownie Scout leader or coach the soccer team. Host events or play dates at your home. By getting involved in this way you will help teach not only your children, but others as well.
Your kids will love that you are taking an interest and helping them out, and you’ll get to have a hands on experience with their activities. That should only help to increase the bond you have with them as a stay-at-home dad.
