Guide Review - Graco CarGo Booster Car Seat Review

In a family with multiple kids and multiple vehicles, a parent can become a collector of car seats. The Graco CarGo Booster Car Seat can help keep the numbers in that collection down.

The unit is a forward-facing car seat that converts to a booster for bigger kids. The combination means it can hold kids from 20 pounds to 100 pounds. So you can pretty much keep a child in it from the time he is a year old until a safety seat is no longer needed.

This seat is functional, especially when used as a car seat for smaller kids.

The five-point harness is easily adjusted to fit a growing child. The seat has two recline positions to ensure further safety and help make the ride more comfortable. Getting a kid into and out of the seat is simple and tightening and loosening the straps is straigt forward, although it can sometimes take a bit of a tug to make it tighter.

It isn't big and bulky like some car seats, meaning it doesn't take up the entire back seat, also making it more portable if you need to remove it from the car.

When it is time to transform the car seat into a booster, the process takes a only few minutes. It again is a good fit for the child, but the booster seat is the biggest problem I have with the unit, specifically buckling up.

It can be a bear to get around the arm rest and cup holder to fasten the seat belt. I have had times where I've had to practically get in the car to get it snapped. And the seat belt holder on the shoulder of the booster can be a frustrating challenge to place the strap in. The combination can take some getting used and add a good deal of time to buckling in compared with snapping together the five-point harness.

But if you can get used to that, the seat is functional, safe and eliminates the need to exchange one car seat for a booster, saving money and space in the garage.
